📌 Who Needs an Indonesian Driving License?
If you’re a foreigner residing in Indonesia on a valid stay permit (ITAS, ITAP, or certain visa types), and you plan to drive a vehicle, you are required to hold a local driving license, known as a SIM (Surat Izin Mengemudi).
Even if you have an International Driving Permit (IDP), it is only valid for short visits and often not recognized for long-term residents.
